Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS)
During the pregnancy the usage of certain medications can flow into the baby’s blood. During this process the babies in the womb gets used for those drugs while still growing inside. After they are taken out of the womb they gets started to show the signs and symptoms of the certain drug withdrawal if they are no longer getting them. The exhibition of such withdrawal symptoms is termed as Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS). This withdrawal will be very painful for the babies which can even lead to severe health issues. The new born baby could be at the greater risk of such withdrawal if the mother is having the Opioid use Disorder.
